Spaghetti with anchovies and breadcrumbs is part of that group of recipes that I call “the Midnight recipes”. What I indicate when I use this expression are those last-minute meals you prepare by night, those impromptu meals when you are with friends after a night out, when everybody is so hungry and it’s always too early to go home! It’s comfort and social food, easy to prepare, with a few ingredients, good to share with others…how could you possibly resist?
Don’t take this wrong, but for an Italian like me it’s really a pain to see how mistreated is the spaghetti Carbonara recipe all around the web.
I mean, spaghetti carbonara is a luscious, four ingredients recipe which is almost pornographic in its goodness.
Nevertheless, even some international superstar chefs everybody follows get it wrong! Yes, I know, I might be slightly melodramatic, but let me ask you a question. What if somebody took your grandma’s best recipe and started giving it all around, completely messed up, passing it off for her best recipe? I bet you won’t be happy. (more…)
I am very happy today, as I finally found somebody that will take care of creating my logo! I really wanted to have one but I am so terrible in design that I could not dare doing it myself. Step by step, everything is gaining its shape… To celebrate this little achievement, today I decided to grant me a little, juicy treat : spaghetti al pomodoro fresco – spaghetti with fresh tomato sauce. It was so good I decided to share my delight with you.
When it comes to this dish, what I always say is: you might not be able to buy happiness, but you can certainly buy all ingredients to prepare spaghetti, and you’ll be close enough to heaven. (more…)
